I have always had a knack for connecting with animals and was blessed to have many family pets through my parents and my Grandmother. I have thoroughly enjoyed caring for dogs and kitty cats throughout my years as a pet sitter and pet sitting business owner and have found it is important to make a connection with each client’s pet as an individual. I earned a B.A. in Psychology from the Queen’s University of North Carolina but gravitated towards a desire to work with dogs and cats, as this brings me the most satisfaction and happiness. During my years attending Queen’s, I volunteered my time with Aldersgate Nursing home of Charlotte, N.C. The Aldergate Nursing Home had 2 full-time Golden Retriever residents, who were given access to walking the halls at various points in the day. The joy these pups brought to the elderly residents was remarkable and really a special site to behold. Dogs are special creatures, and it is such an enjoyable experience to be able to work with them every day.

In 2015 I created Huntersville Pet Sitting and operated and ran it with 5 stars through March of 2020. Now that my only daughter is away at college, I have moved to Fort Lauderdale to be close to my parents and extended family. I grew up in Plantation Acres of Plantation, FL long before the roads were paved, and I was fortunate to have 2 Bay horse pets on our property. I learned the need to approach horses in a delicate manner and have always used this approach in my care for my client’s pets. Dogs and cats are very discerning and should always be cared for in a gentle, compassionate manner. You will always know if your furry friend has been at ease when you return home. My own pet includes a black GoldenDoodle named Finley, who is always cheerful and very high-strung, and a part-time English Bulldog named Sir Winston Churchill, who is very silly and sometimes ornery. Every dog and cat continues to amaze me with their unique dispositions, and I always look forward to my work as a pet sitter. It has been such a thrill to care for so many clients’ pets over the years, as each one brings a new experience and friendship to me. I live in the Rio Vista area of Fort Lauderdale and exclusively provide vacation services for clients in Fort Lauderdale and Plantation.
